Scene 1 – His First Flight

Scene 2 – Alone on the Ledge
The young seagull stands alone on a rocky ledge. His two brothers and his sister have already learned to fly. But when he looks at the vast sea far below, he becomes frightened. He believes that his wings will not support him.
Scene 3 – Fear Holds Him Back
His parents call to him, scold him and encourage him to fly. Even his smaller siblings fly confidently through the sky. Yet the young seagull cannot gather enough courage to jump from the ledge.
Scene 4 – Hunger and Isolation
For twenty-four hours, nobody comes near him. He becomes extremely hungry and searches the empty nest for food. He tries to find another way to reach his family, but every path ends in a steep drop.
Scene 5 – Mother’s Clever Plan
The young seagull sees his mother eating a piece of fish. The sight of the food makes him desperate with hunger. His mother flies towards him with the fish but stops just beyond his reach. She wants him to make an effort and fly.
Scene 6 – The Desperate Dive
The fish is almost within his reach. Maddened by hunger, the young seagull dives towards it. At once, his mother swoops upwards. The young bird falls from the ledge into the open space with a loud scream.
Scene 7 – His Wings Take Over
For a moment, terrible fear grips him. Then he feels the wind rushing beneath his wings. His wings spread naturally and begin to support him. He realizes that he is not falling—he is flying!
Scene 8 – Joy in the Sky
The young seagull flaps his wings and soars higher into the sky. His parents fly beside him, while his brothers and sister circle and dive around him. The entire family celebrates his successful first flight.
Scene 9 – The Green Sea
The young seagull flies towards the green sea and tries to stand on it. His feet sink into the water, and he cries out in fear. Soon, his belly touches the surface, and he discovers that he can float safely.
Scene 10 – His First Flight!
His family gathers around him, praising and congratulating him. They offer him pieces of fish as a reward. The young seagull has finally overcome his fear and completed his first flight.
Message of the Story
The story teaches us that fear can be overcome through courage and action. Self-confidence develops when we face challenges. Necessity, determination and the timely support of our family can help us achieve success.
