She studied in a government school. She did not have expensive study materials or private tuition. However, she used the school library and sought help from her teachers.
Every day, she studied with determination. Sometimes, she had to help her mother with household work before sitting down to study.

🌲 Forty Days of Courage and Hope
By Rahul P.
Imagine being lost in a thick forest for 40 days without adult protection, proper food or shelter. This was the frightening experience of four young children who survived a plane crash in the Colombian Amazon rainforest.
On 1 May 2023, a small aircraft crashed in the dense Amazon jungle. Three adults, including the children's mother, died in the accident. Four siblings, aged 13, 9, 4 and 1, were left alone in the dangerous forest.
The eldest child, Lesly, took responsibility for her younger siblings. Though she was only thirteen years old, she showed remarkable courage and maturity.
The children faced many difficulties. The forest was filled with dangerous animals, insects and poisonous plants. Heavy rain and a shortage of food made their survival even more difficult.
Lesly used the traditional knowledge she had learned from her family. She identified edible fruits and seeds and helped her siblings find food. She also cared for her baby brother.
Meanwhile, Colombian soldiers and Indigenous volunteers searched the forest for the missing children. The rescue operation, known as Operation Hope, continued for several weeks.
Helicopters flew over the forest, and rescue teams searched through difficult terrain. The children's grandmother's recorded voice was also played from helicopters to guide them.
Finally, on 9 June 2023, the rescue teams found all four children alive. They were weak and hungry but had survived an extraordinary experience.
The rescue brought great relief and happiness to their family and the people of Colombia.
Lesly's courage and love for her siblings became an inspiration to people around the world.
Their story reminds us that courage, love, determination and traditional knowledge can help people overcome even the greatest challenges.
Note: Examples 1 and 2 are imaginary stories prepared for examination practice. Example 3 is based on the real rescue of four Indigenous children in Colombia in June 2023.
