[🌟 IF – Easy Point Notes

Rudyard Kipling

  • “If” is a poem by Rudyard Kipling.
  • The poet gives advice on how to become a good and strong person.
  • He asks us to remain calm when others lose control.
  • We should trust ourselves even when others doubt us.
  • At the same time, we should understand their doubts.
  • We should learn to wait patiently.
  • If others tell lies about us, we should not lie.
  • If others hate us, we should not hate them.
  • We should not show off our goodness or wisdom.
  • We can have dreams, but dreams should not control us.
  • We should think, but thinking alone should not be our aim.
  • We should treat success and failure in the same way.
  • The poet calls Triumph (വിജയം) and Disaster (പരാജയം) two impostors (വഞ്ചകർ).
  • This means that neither success nor failure lasts forever.
  • Sometimes people may twist (വളച്ചൊടിക്കുക) our words.
  • We should not lose hope because of this.
  • Sometimes things we worked hard for may be destroyed.
  • We should have the courage to start again.
  • We should be ready to risk what we have gained.
  • If we lose everything, we should start again.
  • We should not keep talking about our loss.
  • We should continue even when we feel tired and weak.
  • Our willpower (മനഃശക്തി) should tell us to “Hold on!”
  • We should mix with ordinary people without losing our good character.
  • We should also be comfortable with kings and important people.
  • We should not allow friends or enemies to hurt us too much.
  • We should respect everyone.
  • But we should not depend too much on anyone.
  • Time is very valuable.
  • We should make good use of every minute.
  • If we develop all these qualities, we can face life successfully.
  • The poet says that such a person becomes truly mature (പക്വതയുള്ള).

🎯 Message of the Poem

We should face life with self-confidence (ആത്മവിശ്വാസം), patience (ക്ഷമ), courage (ധൈര്യം) and self-control (ആത്മനിയന്ത്രണം). We should remain strong in both success and failure and use our time well.]

Rudyard Kipling
